Individuals remade through strength, each of the team were saved in some way by the world of strength training, this is not our job, its is our passion and life goal to impact its community. 

CJBstrong was born of the principles that changed my life. Having suffered depression, anorexia and bulimia my life was redefined by strength. Powerlifting saved my life and I spent the following years winning numerous British and World Championships. Now having hand built this team I invest my heart into them having coached now countless lifters through beginning to international standards and records. MSc, BSc, S&C coach with vast experience. Having spoken around the country and world, this brand is the story we continue to write.

Charlotte started as a client of the brand, excelling throughout her time due to her discipline and dedication she grew exponentially as an athlete and in her knowledge. She quickly rose to the WDFPF World Champion taking records along the way. Already holding qualifications in the field (Level 5 sport & remedial therapist) Charlotte took to coaching through the brand with exceptional prowess and her passion is a great driver for all she works with. With her own career as an athlete growing along with her own gym ‘Unified Strength’, she is the embodiment of leading by example.

After spending a large amount of his later teen life in a hospital James never thought he would get the chance to train properly again. With the gym being a no option for a long time due to illness which gave him paralysis down one side of his body and losing all ability to put together a sentence. Since fighting back and relearning both of them things the gym is something that James is obsessed by. James couldn’t even stand and now placing 5th nationally in the GPC.  He has also been part of CJBstrong for 2 years now and is obsessed by the sport and seeing other people succeed in it.

Powerliftings white knight. A man spread through all parts of the sport including event organising, spotting, reffing and our resident numbers man (think rain man with talc). Often seen assisting our head coaches for game day coaching or in the running of our major events.

Mel handles the content for our CJBstrong instagram page along with the creation of many of the videos and templates you will find on this site. Mel was brought on as an ambassador over a year ago due to her passion for the sport and for the community within it. Mel is an unquestionable back bone for the team and assists making sure all their success is shared and supported.

Edgar is the founder of PSYCH-CHEK and a mental performance coach who’s worked in a range of traditional sports. This includes powerlifting, CrossFit, boxing and athletics (to which he’s worked alongside Great British sprinters). Equipped with his 1st class (BSc) and distinction class (MSc) in sport and exercise psychology and currently partaking in BASES’ SEPAR pathway, he is a self proclaimed psychology wizard that aims to enhance performance using sport psychology principles. Whether it is confidence, nerves, motivation or performance routines, Edgar uses his wealth of knowledge and experience to enhance performance.

Rachel looks after the CJBstrong website, to make sure everything is running smoothly and orders are going through too. While she’s not on her laptop, she is a nationally competitive Strongwoman, currently ranked 7th in England.

Do i need to be experienced?

CJBstrong does not just work with elite athletes, but we also guide beginners into the start of their journey. As long as you have access to a gym and a passion to improve then we can help you move forward! 

Can I pick my coach?

Should you wish to work with a specific coach on our team you may declare this and you will be assigned to that coach. We do however pride ourselves on the ability of all on our team, each coach is qualified and experienced to be able to support your needs. 

When can i start?

Should you decide to take on this next step we will need 5-7 days to get the information we require and have your program built subjectively for you. The sign up process can be started on our ‘services’ page.

How long would i need coaching for?

Some clients have been with us for years, others for a matter of months. Having a coach keeps individuals accountable, allows someone to handle the bigger picture while you execute the work and guide all elements of your training journey. Should you wish just to fix some technical faults you may find that 3-6months is enough to develop your lifting, however we pride ourselves on being able to help you make consistent and ongoing progress without limit.

What if I have an injury?

In our team we have educated and experienced injury practitioners. Callum has an MSc in Sports Rehabilitation and will either be hands on involved or consulted with regarding any issues you have. We are able to design programming around rehabilitation of your injuries, pre-habilitation of any possible concerns going forwards and should there be subjective limitations, the best possible means of progressing around the,.

What if I need to leave coaching?

Should your circumstance change or you feel coaching is not for you, all we ask is a months notice where possible. But there are never hard feelings! 

Can I swap between programming and coaching?

Absolutely, should you start with coaching and feel technically sound after a few months just let us know that you would like to move over to programming and we can start that at the next block. Similarly if you have chosen to start with programming only but find that this may require further guidance, then we can also move you over to coaching at the start of the next block.

Do I need 1-2-1 sessions?

Remote coaching allows us to work with you in greater details than 1-2-1 sessions allow. with remote coaching we are only a message away during sessions and around them, as opposed to a 1 hour slot. We also have access to all your training footage and give more detailed analysis of your technique through the footage we share. We also find that remote coaching allows for the client/athlete to develop as an individual. However! Should you choose that you do need the 1-2-1 we have coaches who work 1-2-1 for our brand and can be assigned to you.
